What makes Sacred River Ministries unique?
Our whole focus is on providing pastoral care and supportive services to people in need of a funeral service but not comfortable with many of the requirements and restrictions of organized religion. Our ministers are remarkably adept at conveying the love of a caring Creator without demanding any particular belief or doctrinal consent.
What kinds of services do you provide?
We assist family members in their initial grieving process. We help people to plan and organize a funeral or memorial service that feels comfortable and meaningful to them. We customize services to meet the needs of those who will gather. Some people like an evening wake or vigil service. Others choose a funeral service or a simple ceremony at graveside. Still others choose to have a memorial service, near the time of passing or afterwards, to celebrate the loved one’s life. A combination of things above or something altogether different is possible. The important thing is that family chooses.
What if I don’t know what kind of service I want or how to plan one?
That’s not at all unusual. We will be glad to help you by providing an array of suggestions until one feels right for you. We’ll help with as much or as little planning of the service as you like.
Where does Sacred River Ministries hold services?
We have funeral services in a wide variety of places. Most funeral directors have access to a chapel and will help you in scheduling. Services can be held either in or out of doors. People choose clubs, temples, shrines, riversides, backyards, and rented halls to gather with friends and family for a time to honor a loved one, often followed by sharing a simple meal. The point is there are no wrong choices. Whatever you select will be a beautiful expression of your love and care.
